Ben staat op het punt om in Savannah met zijn verloofde te trouwen. Over twee dagen is het zover en hij neemt het vliegtuig van New York naar Savannah. Op het allerlaatste ogenblik wordt de vlucht echter geschrapt en samen met medepassagier Sarah probeert hij een huurauto te vinden. Wanneer dat niet lukt, nemen ze de trein, maar ze vergeten over te stappen waardoor ze uiteindelijk verder van hun doel geraken. De bus dan maar? Dat wordt moeilijk nadat iemand al hun geld gestolen heeft. Tot overmaat van ramp begint Ben vreemde gevoelens te krijgen voor Sarah. (United International Pictures)

A nice little film that won't offend anyone and I certainly wasn't bored. Affleck is exceptionally good, which unfortunately can’t be said about Sandra Bullock. I could imagine a dozen better actresses in her place as the "element".

If Marc Lawrence had known what he wanted to say with his screenplay, Forces of Nature could have been a successful natural disaster romance. Instead, this typical romantic comedy turns into an average conversation and, in the end, incomprehensible drama flirts with mental rejuvenation. As a result, it becomes a tale of relationships and encounters throughout the four seasons, but because everything rests on the two main characters, it paradoxically has no chance to satisfy anyone.
