I wouldn’t say this thriller is completely awful, but it definitely has its issues. Hypnotic feels like it’s pieced together from a bunch of 80s B-movie ideas but wrapped up in Netflix’s usual glossy production. Kate Siegel is a solid choice, but the rest of the cast makes it feel more like a soap opera than a suspenseful thriller. Two stars seem fair, but honestly, it's an hour and a half you won’t get back.
