Kertu

Set in the Estonian countryside, the story portrays thirty-year-old Kertu (Ursula Ratasepp-Oja), who has spent all her life under the thumb of her violent father. She is consequently very shy and fearful. Yet she makes a desperate attempt to change her life forever. She sends a postcard to a local womaniser and drunkard, asking him to get her pregnant. A shy love between Kertu and Villu blossoms in the labyrinth of complicated relationships and tyranny. (Febiofest)
