I fundamentally disagree that this is the worst episode of the series, on the contrary, I subjectively found it almost the best and I had a royal good time. Laughing out loud over and over again, a gem! ()
A movie unworthy of Austin Powers’ quality and potential... The beginning is excellent, takes of well, but then old jokes from the preceding parts begin to get recycled and that just isn’t funny anymore. Proof that you can’t make an entire movie with just two or three hilarious sketches as a foundation. Unfortunately, not the usually charismatic Mike Myers has any chance of pulling this off. ()
I remember not being very impressed with the third Austin Powers film the first time I saw it, but after watching it today I was downright disappointed. Goldmember doesn’t bring anything new, the jokes have hit rock bottom. The only positives were Austin, Dr.Evil and Mini Me. Otherwise, there was nothing worth watching. Why Beyoncé was in it is beyond me. ()
Although it is not the unbounded, audacious, and almost genius madness as the previous installment, even this time I am enthralled. A cult film against which there is no rational defense, where the character of Dr. Evil is truly immortal. ()
It's still funny and some of the jokes are still brilliant. The subtitle jokes just nailed it and absolutely floored me. Mostly the execution is just a blast, as is the overall atmosphere, which manages to hold up well. In the end, it also has a development that isn't that surprising, but still manages to be entertaining. If there's a fourth movie, I'm pretty curious. ()
