Engels Blind Beast follows in the footsteps of films like Onibaba or Woman in the Dunes. In a minimal space unfolds a human drama, this time intertwined with a real handicap, but also with art. Is Aki just a muse, or is it an attempt at redemption in front of his mother? Is art the sculptor's only way to live - to touch, and to love? It beautifully shifts who is in the spotlight, and who has the upper hand over others. It doesn't always have to be the one who kidnapped the girl. Actually, in the end, him the least of all. ()
