Quite a letdown compared to the first film, which was entertaining and interesting. This is just plain boring, treading water, and not even the constant confrontation between Švejk and Lukáš, played by Lamač himself, can save it. It's more of an interlude meant to prepare us for the third installment, which is worth it.
