Het inspirerende verhaal van Winter is nog niet voorbij. Een paar jaar nadat zij een staartprothese kreeg verliest Winter haar draagmoeder, waarna ze alleen en verdrietig achterblijft. Ze wil met niemand praten, zelfs niet met haar beste mensenvriend, Sawyer. En erger nog, misschien moet ze wel weg uit haar aquarium, omdat dolfijnen volgens de regels in paren moeten leven. Wanneer Dr. Clay Haskett en zijn toegewijde team geen maatje voor haar kunnen vinden, lijkt het erop dat ze hun geliefde Winter zullen verliezen... tot een onverwachte wending hen weer hoop geeft. Considering the qualities of the first film, which were just slightly above average, the second installment is actually a suitable and quite enjoyable continuation. It's nice that they brought together the same actors and the story moves forward, both in the case of the dolphins and the people, whose fates are quite interesting, and it's evident that someone at least somewhat succeeded with the script. Within the family film genre, of course.

A dolphin is allegedly the most intelligent animal in the world. Maybe that is why they shot this movie about it, which is not that bad, but it is the type of classic animal movie that does not offend, does not enthuse, annoy or anger you. It is nice from beginning till the end. It is also sad only appropriately, because these wannabe Disney shows cannot end in any other way than in happy end.
