De Ardennen, kerstmis 1944. Het peloton van luitenant Gene Cappa, wordt naar een rustig deel van de frontlinie gestuurd. Er worden geen problemen verwacht, de militaire inlichtingendienst rapporteert dat het Duitse leger alleen nog wat kinderen en bejaarden in het gebied heeft. Maar wanneer ze aankomen blijkt niets minder waar. Zwaarbewapende SS troepen voeren aanvallen over het hele gebied uit. Het blijkt de aanloop naar het Ardennenoffensief, een gigantische Duitse operatie waarbij 200.000 troepen ingezet worden, massaal gesteund door tanks en zware artillerie… (Three Lines Pictures)
