Engels A great example of Finnish cinema, blending drama with just the right touch of absurdity — something the Finns do so well. It’s hard not to compare it to the Russian concept of the "superfluous man" found in Lermontov’s Pechorin, but here we get a distinctly East Scandinavian take on it through the character of Pekka. Even though Pekka is a businessman, he's also a bit of a social misfit. I really enjoyed watching him lose and find himself again in those conversations full of lies. When it comes to exploring these kinds of themes, the Scandinavians are truly masters. ()
